More than 100 users of a recalled contact lens solution called AMO Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose Solution are believed to have contracted acanthamoeba keratitis, an infection associated with a parasite found in soil and fresh water.
Government officials are warning people to throw away contact lens solution. The link between the solution and the infection was identified as a result of an investigation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If the infection is untreated it could necessitate a corneal transplant or the loss of an eye. The symptoms may include eye pain or redness, blurred vision, light sensitivity, sensation of something in the eye or excessive tearing.
The Weycer Law Firm is now evaluating these claims after being contacted by potential clients. Call us today to discuss your case for free.
